The ICSW and Friends
of the Iowa Commission of the Status of Women (Friends)
are planning a statewide summit of women’s and girls’
organizations that will help to grow collaboration amongst
women’s and girls’ organizations who share our
broad vision of “growing Iowa’s opportunities
so that every women and girl can reach her full potential.”

Who is involved?
The following organizations are interested in working on
the summit along with ICSW and Friends: AFSCME, Alpha Kappa
Alpha, American Association of University Women, Business
and Professional Women, CAPI, Chrysalis Foundation, Girl
Scouts of Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois, Girl Scouts
of Greater Iowa, Iowa Coalition Against Domestic Violence,
Iowa Coalition Against Sexual Assault, Iowa Commission on
the Status of African-Americans, Iowa Division of Latino
Affairs, Iowa Initiative, League of Women Voters of Iowa,
Monsoon, Nexus, Women’s Development Connection, and
YWCA of Des Moines.
We continue to seek the expertise and commitment of partnering
organizations in planning so that the summit appeals to
the diversity of these organizations, strengthens relationships
across the state, and builds toward shared goals.
What are the ways our organization can be involved?
Collaboration, volunteerism, name recognition, and financial
resources are, of course all needed to make the summit a
success. We ask for your organization’s participation
in or more of the following three committees:
Program, Sponsorship, and Outreach.
