The Iowa Division of Criminal & Juvenile
Justice Planning (CJJP) compiles a report every three years
that includes an updated analysis of juvenile crime problems
within the state of Iowa. This
report includes data broken down by gender as well as
race and ethnicity.
Further data on young women in the juvenile
justice system can be found on our Girls'
Summit as well as the CJJP

DHS Service Level Data
These documents provide information regarding select services administered by the Iowa Department of Human Services (DHS). Information is taken from the DHS data warehouse. The documents specifically seek to provide county and select regional planning data broken down by race/ethnicity and gender. The data contained is presented as point in time counts for each calendar year.
These documents are intended to serve as a resource for child welfare/juvenile justice planning officials and youth serving agencies. They were produced as a collaborative effort between the Iowa Gender Specific Services Task Force, the Iowa Disproportionate Minority Contact Committee, DHS, and the Iowa Division of Criminal and Juvenile Justice Planning. It is hoped that the information provided can further state and local planning efforts for girls and youth of color, as well as improve the overall variety of information available for select system services.
Documents are entitled "Annual Report" and are preceded by the corresponding year of the report.
Juvenile Delinquency Data
The Iowa Juvenile Court Services Offices issued their first annual statewide report in 2003. This report as well as those of subsequent years are a compilation of information from the eight judicial districts' Juvenile Court Services Offices at key decision points in the juvenile justice system. Information contained in these reports is entered at every Juvenile Court Office throughout the state by both Juvenile Court Services support staff and Juvenile Court Officers. The data is entered into the Iowa Court Information System (ICIS). ICIS data is then centralized at the Iowa Justice Data Warehouse (JDW), which is maintained by the Iowa Division of Criminal and Juvenile Justice Planning (CJJP).
The documents provide data broken down by race/ethnicity and gender. These reports can be found in their entirety at the website maintained by CJJP.
Documents are entitled "Annual Report" and are preceded by the corresponding year of the report.
