                             Latino Affairs Statewide Interpreter Roster

The Office of Latino Affairs works with Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC), (the only higher education institution in Iowa with a Interpreter and Translation Program) to maintain a roster of individuals who have been deemed qualified as either general or specialized Spanish/English language interpreters in Iowa. All of the interpreters listed have completed the DMACC Interpretation and Translation courses required by the Office of Latino Affairs.

Please click the district where you live on the map below to find interpreters closest to you.
(Interpreters are listed by their home county, then alphabetically by last name.) Some interpreters specialize in legal, health care, etc. Contact interpreters directly in order to find about their specialties, rates and availability.

In order to be included in the Roster, you must complete the courses required by the Office of Latino Affairs through DMACC. Once you have completed the requirements, you will be asked to complete a criminal background check, and provide an official copy of your transcript and a copy of your photo ID.

Please view the
DMACC Interpreter Program site to identify when the required courses are offered and the cost for the courses. Please contact the Office of Latino Affairs with any questions in regard to the Interpreter Roster.
